COMPANY OVERVIEW

SRB&A currently consists of four anthropologists/archaeologists, two GIS technicians, and administrative staff. SRB&A currently has staff members who meet the Secretary of Interior’s professional qualifications standards (36 CFR Part 61) for archaeology and for cultural anthropology (62 FR 33708 [June 20, 1997]). SRB&A resources and equipment include the following:

  • Approximately 2,300 square feet of office space located in downtown Anchorage on the corner of 3rd Avenue and G Street.

  • Individual offices, a conference room, an archaeological lab, and other workspaces for professional staff, providing an open atmosphere for meetings and ongoing discussion and analysis of topics

  • Web Based Conferencing with video & desktop sharing, Instant Messaging (IM), document repositories and other social networking services. We utilize technologies from Microsoft and Cisco Systems to enable our business to communicate and collaborate both internally with our staff, along with externally to our customers more effectively and securely.

  • Computer server and network with 16 workstations with dual monitors; color, laser and high-speed printers and copier; facsimile, DSL internet; and a daily backup system, including offsite backup. SRB&A uses Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365.

  • Multiple Geographic Positioning Systems (GPS) units including Trimble TDC600s that pair with an R1 High Resolution GNSS Receiver used to record locational information during archaeological surveys. SRB&A has multiple ArcGIS (geographic information system) workstations.

  • Variety of Geographic Information System (GIS) ESRI products, graphics, and statistical packages with which to serve clients through its GIS platform. SRB&A regularly prepares maps and graphics in GIS for reports and work products.

  • Statistical Package for Social Sciences to conduct bivariate and multivariate analyses related to subsistence use patterns and sociocultural survey research.

  • Extensive GIS library containing subsistence use area and cultural resource data throughout the State of Alaska.

  • Extensive in-house library containing literature on Alaskan subsistence harvests and use patterns, cultural resources, traditional knowledge, and socio-cultural and socio-economic research.

  • Telephone and conferencing system which allows for remote office access.
